Carbon Canary
Yep ! Well done Onetrack. This one was going through its final airworthy checks last month at Lachen-Speyerdorf airfield. CC
facthunter
The undercarriage is identical to those on the Fisher Range. Made in OHIO. Nev
red750
OT is right, Platzer Kiebitz. Here is a photo of the same aircraft in flight. I was fooled by the cowling, but the undercarriage is the key. Bucker undercarriage is under the wing.

Carbon Canary
Where’s Flyboy ? He thought the Platzer was a Jungmann. Similar, but different. And on this occasion, located around 20 mins flying time apart down the Rhein.

red750
The monoplane/biplane is a Hillson FH40 Slipwing Hawker Hurricane. A Hurricane with a second wing which can be discarded after take-off. Designed to shorten the take-off for a quick scramble launch, then discard the top wing for speed for the pursuit and fight.
Marty_d
That seems a little wasteful, besides the risk of taking your tail off, I can't imagine many of the discarded wings tumbling down were able to be reused!
red750
The upper wing appears to set higher than the tail, and providing lift with little weight, it would rise up clear of the tail after release. The weight of the struts would prevent it flipping long enough to clear the tail.
onetrack
Marty, the top wing was possibly made from a disposable cheap material, such as plywood.
Flightrite
Now that’s one way to ugly up a great looking plane!😂During a scramble I can see the airfield littered with splintered plywood, making A/C still taking off dodging the rubbish😂 1

BUT if they had not be directed to design around a jet engine (not suited to role) but instead allowed to use a turboprop this may have been a replacement for the AN-2 ... even though the AN-2 is now getting a turboprop.

Belphor or summit like that. A 70' span biplane pure jet, what a brilliant idea! The 2 hoppers might give some problems with emptying on solids giving a few asymmetric problems. They were that confident in the design that two seats were incorporated behind the pilot for an engineer an a joyrider 😁
