Geoff13
Hi all. Is there a program that shows aviation maps on a PC desktop. I use Ozrunways to plan currently but would like to look at it on a larger scale. Especially when trying to plan longer journeys, like Brisbane to Mildura say. i find it a bit limiting on the ipad to get a good overall view. Ada Elle
I use skyvector.com, but the maps don't have all the CTA / restricted areas marked.
mkennard
If you have a PC I guess PocketFMS. That's what I used to always use in Parallels on my Mac. I just checked the website, looks like they call it EasyVFR now. I don't use it anymore, just the data files for my skyview.
Aldo
Geoff Take a look at either Command Flight Planner or Champagne Flight Planning both are very good and not expensive to buy or continue yearly subscriptions both come with the standard updates every three months. I have used Command for the last 5 or 6 years and find it very good Aldo
WayneL
Airnav VFR from sentient software was good but they seem to be not very proactive recently. Wayne.
Jay_1984
I'll second Sentient airnav. Basic but does what I need it to do for planning. I use it to make back up paper copies of maps I'll need incase the tablet has a hissy fit mid flight 1

That way you are using a familiar interface.
Geoff13
Thanks for all the leads I will look at them. I like the idea of patching through to the TV but first I would need to work out how to turn the TV on. It does sound like a good idea though. Old Koreelah
Most newer TVs have an HDMI slot, which will take a cable via an adaptor from your iPad.
