ADS-B ACT NOW

Sean

Recommended Posts

You only have a few more days to respond.

HUGE COSTS, ALL PAIN, NO GAIN.

If you feel like I do then tell them, ACT NOW.

And if you don't feel like I do, then do nothing at all.

Here is an email another pilot has just sent me, hope it is of some use to you.

Sean.

tried to email my response and the DOTAR sever blocked it as spam !!! I guess thats one way of preventing complaints.

If you want to try email, send something your response in the format below to [email protected] .

I printed out the attached document, filled it in with the responses below and faxed it to them on 02 6274 7804.

You could also print it and post to the address on the form but please respond somehow. If possible, use your own words for the responses - of course, if your views are different to mine than that won't be a problem ;-)

Are you satisfied with the consultation on this issue?

Difficult to reply in electronic format. A web response form would have been preferable.

Key Change Proposals The four government agencies invite you to advise your comments on the subject

matter proposed in this JCP by indicating your preference by ticking [] the

appropriate box and commenting below:

Proposed timing of transition to satellite technology for navigation and surveillance

Requirements for carriage and use of ADS-B avionics from mid-2012

Requirements for carriage and use of ADS-B avionics from mid-2014

[ ] not acceptable under any circumstance

This would affect large numbers of recreational aircraft which periodically transit through CTAF®.

The operators of many of these aircraft would have limited or no access to the certified avionics LAME necessary to comply with the calibration requirements. The current CTAF® radio procedures ensure adequate operational safety in these areas. ADS-B should not be mandatory for operation in any Class-G airspace.
