Rotax 912 loose cyl head bolt

Not sure if it the same bolt but have a look through this thread of mine, if it is the same bolt I would say it is broken and will need replacing. Anyway look at the pictures and check the opposite side of the motor, it certainly sounds the same anyway

Torque wrenches in inexperienced hands cause problems

 

Were the nuts slacked off before retorqueing

 

Were the nuts lubricated also Loktite

 

Correct sequence of tightening nots/bolts

 

Head hot or cold

 

Correct figures also Nm or lbft

 

Case of "if it aint broke don't f*** with it"

If one out of four bolts holding a cylinder on, breaks, it is a big deal. It's certainly NOT safe or designed to be used with one missing. I would very much want to know the cause, especially if there are similar breakages occurring.. With a Jabiru just replacing it would not be sufficient, as I would suggest damage could very likely have been done requiring internal inspection. Nev
