Rotax 912 Exhaust Springs/Clamps

Is it the clamps that secure the manifold into the muffler that you are after? I think they are an Evektor part.

I get all my Sportstar parts from Nelson Aeroplane Company in Victoria. Google will find their details. Harvey the Owner & Lame is very helpful.

After breaking 2 Rotax springs in 30 hrs, I have replaced all of them with stainless springs fron jbm in the US.All still going strong after 350hrs.......

I know a LAME that runs a bead of high temperature flexible silicone down each side of each Rotax spring to dampen vibration flexing. Voila! No more broken exhaust springs, regardless of type/source.

Note: There is advice to warn against filling the spring with silicone as it interferes with air cooling of the spring - a good bead along the sides does nicely. The safety wire should not be tight, either. It should be just loose enough to allow normal flexing of the spring. The safety wire ensures a broken spring stays with the aircraft, not dropping out of the sky doing random damage on its way to earth. 043_duck_for_cover.gif.77707e15ee173cd2f19de72f97e5ca3b.gif
