Tue 13th

Should have stopped at Redcliffe on your way home.

We were in the right place at the right time, talking to the right person.

He asked us if we'd like to go for a ride in this at 4 PM.

Not as pretty as a DC-3 but biggish round engines... thought of you Chain saw as we grumbled along.

It needed a bit of a clearance of the cobwebs... hasn't flown for a while due to the high auto fuel prices making passengers not spend on treats like going for a joy flight.

Shot over Moreton Bay at 500 feet and climbed all the way to a thousand to fly over Moreton Island.

I grabbed the back seat to video the proceedings from as it had the clearest window. They are all being replaced soon.

Those windows were a good experience for us. Classic Wings will definitely replace crazed windows as they appear in the DC-3.

Hello sixtiesrelic

How cool and wonderful must that have been! You were very lucky! It just proves that you can have so much luck and fortune when you totally unexpect it as an aviation enthusisit! Thanks for showing the pics! Ah my gawd! Believe it or not, I was at Redcliffe yesterday!!!! :o :o :o But only very breifly to snap a few choppers including a Navy Eurocopter AS350 Squirriel. I was there around 12:00ish but unfortunately 4 hours too early!!! It just proves it's a small world after all!!!

60's,

Well howdy pardner.

Well I'm a tad jealous of your flight. At least you made it back in one bit.

Loved to other pics too. The British thing, is that a Heron?

No Chain saw it's a Dove.I will run a thread on them with photos when I find a bit more out.

It used to be in Victoria.

Yes now I remember, Dove yes. What kind of engine do they have?

Thanks mate, interesting. Not the most powerful of engines.

I have always found them to be a most interesting shape, especially around the pilots cabin.
