Wow, flew my TIF today after 2 cancelations due to bad weather up here in Cairns. It was awesome, I got to fly most the flight up to double island, did a few 360 turns, then flew back, having to divert to a different course to accomodate a larger twin on final, i then got to line up to rwy 15 and i decended to aound 100ft then my instructor, Peter, took over and landed in a difficult 25-35 kt headwind, i got to taxi to and from the runway too.

I think I have found my new career. They tell me the gov is going to start a hecs style system in an attemt to train pilots into the industry. Only ppls will be eligable so that they can be sure the money will be well spent.

Does anyone else know anything about this scheme?

Mick.

G_I_Jack, do you get up very often??

I notice you are an hour from YBDG - do you get to YBDG very often?? or if you have an airfield near you, I can fly in and take you up for a flight if you like...just let me know.

Thanks GI Jack, I wish I started when I was your age, I'd be living my dream by now! Owell, 26 isnt too old I guess.

I'll start a blog when I start my training, which is finance dependent (isn't everything!) Good thing is that a loan for 15k for the ppl is alot easier to obtain then a loan for 60odd g for a cpl...

You can have your very own blog here at TAA!

What was the aircraft you did your TIF in? I did mine in a twin Duchess! Have done 2 or 3 TIF's in Jabiru and have done "unofficial" lessons Still don't have my licence though.
