That's a very interesting design in #13351, but being made in China is likely to cough its guts up at the 15 second mark. Turbo's Cone project is slilghtly different and backed by several trials. Initially Turbo didn't worry about aerodynamics, just took a 2" dozer bolt, wrapped in paper and launched it the way you hand launch a model glider. The aircraft repeatedly flew a pretty arc, so was considered a success. onetrack Posted September 5, 2020 Share Posted September 5, 2020 .....come filled with leaves and unflyable, so this manoueuvre is best left to highly-trained professionals with a high-hour logbook and plenty of under-canopy flying experience. But of course, this technique is also governed by the type of tree and the size of the canopy involved. Naturally, you wouldn't carry out an under-canopy wingover under a Wodjil - but a Moreton Bay Fig is a totally different scenario, and the Fig wingover is usually accompanied by the pilot yelling out, "I don't give a Fig about RAA or CASA rules!" as they carry out the manouevre, followed by..... It is a quill with the AUF initials carved into the side in scrimshaw, and had been presented to him by Emelia E when he joined up way back when. THIS IS TURBO'S VIDEO (A RARE RECORDING OF HIS VOICE TOO) ON QUILL SHARPENING AFTER HE FOUND THAT IT DOESN'T WORK SO WELL WITH $40 BALLPOINTS.
