Tubers are all starchy , aren't they ? fraid it's not my area of expertise. I am sure we have a Tuber farmer in the mix.

I've grown spuds for over 40 years. I have never smeared one on a windscreen or done any thing weird to a potato except cook and eat them & shoot a few out of a spud gun. A PVC tube, spark plug, battery & some CRC & I have got them to fly over 100 metres. Hows's that for thread drift. At least it has drifted back to flying (the spud anyway).

You have to be in visible moisture in temps 10deg C & below to get icing.

It's a very nasty business getting airframe icing had it more times than I care to remember!

OAT - not sure to be honest, probably 0-ish.  There is a cabin heater in the aircraft... but I encouraged my wife to wear warm socks.  She also brought a big loose "throw around", which frankly I found a bit loose as it hung over the controls etc.  But she was warm enough to fall asleep just after that photo.. it might have also had something to do with the wine she had at Milawa (YILA).
