facthunter
The step piston is not a new idea. I think it was Dunelt who used it 100 years ago. The vee configuration gives good piston inertia flywheel effect continuity. Driveshaft outrigger bearing and dual idler gears is nice.. Nev Like the Hooper stepped V4 - posted on here before but http://www.bernardhooperengineering.co.uk/spv580ds.htm 40hp and 18.5kg without redrive ... would have been nice to see that developed for microlights/ultralights and not just an MOD contract development without production. facthunter
The transfer passages are lengthy. A backfire there might be destructive if there's fuel mix there.. There's many a slip betwixt Cup and Lip. Nev Edited February 16, 2023 by facthunter spelling

onetrack
Haven't we had this discussion only about 2-1/2 years ago? ..... https://www.recreationalflying.com/topic/36628-ac-aero-higgs-multifuel-engine/
Thruster88
The engine was supposed to be certified by now. It won't be a thing until Paul Bertorelli gives us a report having flown behind one. 1
