Crash near Denman NSW

Recommended Posts

I just saw on a seven news break that there was a Gazelle that crashed on a private strip near Denman in NSW. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it or seen a report. I've checked the news websites and haven't found anything.

Succesful forced landing

Have just spoken to Destiny Flyer (after a few worrying seconds).

Dexter & his Px are ok after some First Aid. But that will be Destiny's job to tell us about when he can get back on our forums. The Gazelle is a write-off, however, but at least we can all be thankful that there are no critical injuries, thanks to Dexter's airmanship & presence of mind.

Thanks for alerting us, numptie.

Ah no, never met Destiny but his name jumped to mind as soon as I heard the location. Sorry to hear about the aircraft, but very relieved that crew and pax ok.

Thanks for the update Decca.

Damage.

These experiences are mind altering episodes. Glad you're OK. Hope you can tell us about it (when you are ready). Something on the plane may be of some use, but it is secondary to your welfare. Cheers Nev

As Nev says - every one of us is more glad to hear that you and your pax are ok Mate - but also sorry to hear about the Gazelle but then an aircraft is always replaceable - hope you get back up in the air really soon

Hi Dexter.

The outcome may not have been quite as you had wished, but it sounds like your actions saved the bacon of yourself and pax, which is the main thing.

News such as this, has an impact on all your mate too, thats obvious by all the replies.

Kind Regards

Planey

Thanks Dex - no one can criticise anything as who knows what any one of us would have done unless put in the absolute exact same situation - you picked a course of action within split seconds and walked away...that means you made the right decision.

Thanks again for telling us all 018_hug.gif.8f44196246785568c4ba31412287795a.gif

Thanks very much for your account of what happened DF. It can be nothing but a learning exercise for all of us, and at the very least cause for some deep thought.

Pity about your aircraft now in bits but it happens eh? It would be good to learn of the cause for the loss of engine power.

Cheers,

Pud
