X-Air

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Thinking of looking at buying myself an X-Air, not after copious amounts of speed, something reasonably comfortable and safe, to use between places like Sydney - Taree or Sydney - Orange. X-Air seems to be fitting my needs. Was in the process of planning a trip to Taree in a PA28 today and noted the TAF has MOD TURB for this afternoon, how would someone flying an X-Air to Taree today go? Is something like MOD TURB the sort of thing that gets you reconsidering your need to go???

Also if anyone knows of any X-Air's for sale please let me know, have seen the one in the RAA mag, thanks guys.

I flew a Bantam, a very similar aircraft to the X-Air. Let me say that flying in turbulance in any low wing loading aircraft is not something you would PLAN to do. However it will re-establish your faith in the designers, when you discover that the wings don't actually come off. Keep the speed down, (not hard to do in the type) and don't 'fight' the conditions.
