Guest Andys@coffs Posted April 20, 2015 Share Posted April 20, 2015 traditional GA Aircraft can take more, but are generally seriously weight limited. 2 adults plus pilot may cut your choices down.... rounding up to the next full Kg how heavy are each of you? For example a Cessna 172 from memory has a useful load of about 410kg including fuel which when full is 160kgs on its own. Mildura from Canberra direct is possibly doable with full tanks providing no wind aloft (and possibly even tails winds) and would take about 3 1/4 hrs. AVGAS costs circa $2.20 per lt so the fuel costs would be about $460 split 50/50. If you break into segments allowing a refuel at each segment then the weight that can be carried as passengers/luggage increases, I haven't looked at the flight path needed and whats on the way that can be used for fuel but I suspect there's probably reasonable choice.
