  1. Calculation If stall speed is 43knots and taxiing speed is a fast walking pace say 4.3knots then the extra lift (even with flaps extended) would be 1 over (43/4.3)squared by my calculations - that is 1/100 the weight of the aircraft. So I would say if you taxi at a reasonable speed it makes no difference at all to have the stick back. I could be wrong.
  2. Keep your nose at the right pitch Yep, good to keep speed under control when landing but I think the most important thing to do if you want to avoid a high stall when you are landing is to keep looking out the front and keep the attitude of the plane correct. If you point the nose in the air enough to wash off speed but not enough to increase altitude the plane will settle on the ground then the trick is to keep moving the stick back slowly so it does not take off again. I mean, I am not expert but it works for me.
  3. The teenie two had a Jabiru in it. I have done my radio exam and about 25-30 hours. Need to find time to do more exams.
  4. keen Yep, I would be keen to come
  5. Keep the choke on You have to keep the choke on right up till preflight checks. After it has warmed up you do your 2000RPM check. At this stage you can drop off the choke. Be a bit careful when coming in to land. You might want not to go below 1200RPM. I haven't had the engine stop but it just about cut out once on the first landing. I always keep a hand on the throttle when coming in to land but it helps to keep an eye on the REV counter whenever you decrease throttle.
  6. Might be a VW Hi Brent. I agree the JULIET ROMEO WHISKEY is a fine plane to fly. I changed m mind about engines and am looking at an VWaero from Great Planes or an aero v. I will still continue to fly JULIET ROMEO WHISKEY even when I get my plane off the ground. My plane is a single seater.
  7. How many hp is that VW? How many hp is that VW? I am looking at an 80hp Rotax or Jabiru for my teenie two. What is the weight of your aircraft? PS I just joined this forum too.
  8. I am new here. Looks like a great site. I am training in a Jabiru J160 and have bought a complete home built Teenie Two with no engine. I have half a volkswagon engine but am leaning towards a Rotax 912 or may be a Jabiru 2200.
