This RANS aircraft was offered to Piper some years ago when they were looking for a product for the 1320lb MTOW LSA market. Piper opted to go with the CZAW SportCruiser, but not for long.

....and a locally built example

Hi red750...I’m presently building a RANS S-20 in SE QLD. Just a couple of minor comments:
a. There is now a variant that utilises the single strut, all aluminium wing off their S-21 Outbound. (I’m building this way) It picks up a couple of knots in cruise, thanks to the cleaner aerodynamics.
b. RANS also offers the S-20 with the option of fitting a Titan 180HP or Rotax 915iS, for those with cash to spare.
c. The photo above of N133TX is actually a S-21 Outbound. Subtle difference that is only apparent to an owner/builder.
