  1. Pity you did not get more interest for this! I would have been up for it except I cannot get that airfield to work and am very short on time.

    No worries man.

I'm still thinking of starting a Virtual Boonah up on the Flight Sim. But I need some support behind me. You can't get it to work. What's the problem mate? Let us know. I'm quite a whiz at the computer so I can help you out.

    Just a thought.

  2. Gentlemen,

Next-week I plan on extending an oppourtunity to members of both this forum and the public in having a airport fully-operational for a period of 1 week next week (4 -10 Apr 11). If there is anyone interested in participating in the session next week, please send me your details via PM or just post them below.

Depending on the level of interest, it will be 24/7 operational airport with a series of events and hops around Australia. If you guys have any suggestions, post them here? Then we can make up a schedule of flights including times/dates of arrivals and departures from Boonah. I can make a basic website in the mean-time with a Pre-Flight Briefing Service, etc. The Primary aerodrome and base of all operations for this exercise will be Boonah, Queensland.

There are two facilities avialable at Boonah:

    • AirSport QLD (hangar) - flying school

    • Flying Tigers (clubhouse) - club/group of recreational enthuasists

I encourage that we all make good use of these facilties for the duration of the week. By parking outside and using the hangared parking that Boonah has to offer.

The session details are as follows:

AirSport QLD Virtual (subject to change)

Lobby: Free-flight / Flight Training (depending on interest)

Scenery: Aussie Ants Airports Boonah Scenery

Aircraft: RAAus and General Aviation Approved aircraft.

PS: More details in regard to Airport Information and procedure is to follow this weekend.

    See you all next-week! 002_wave.gif.62d5c7a07e46b2ae47f4cd2e61a0c301.gif

  3. Just recapping what Owi had to say. The FTX/ORBX Team has been developing a J230 for quite sometime now.

Make sure you guys drop by the website and purchase a copy of Cairns! It's amazing best release that I've seen yet. Is there anyone that would like to have a flight in Anthony's Technam Seirra sometime next week?

    Cheers,

    Skype: max.lye

  4. You guys up for a fly this week or next?

I've got my system up and running did a real nice clean-out. Full settings with REX 2.0 and I'm getting a constant of 35FPS. Also I ordered the Technam Sierra last week and received it in the mail on Monday. What a week so far!

You gentlemen keen for a small hop from Boonah to Redcliffe or such? I flew that route today and you come across alot of remote airstrips and farms. Fantastic scenery when you have FTX!

    Cheers,

  5. sorry guys, can't really do it midweekit takes a lot of time to get it all disconnected and packed up in the car, and vice verca

    Hey mate,

Been pretty flat out all week.

I should be able to do a Flight from AirSport's Hangar around late Wednesday. It should be sooner than that. I'm getting some more RAM put in my 'beast' currently has 6 but I want 8! Haha.

Yerr just doing a routine checkup on the system all is good.

    Cheers,

Haha! Fantastic sounds great. I'm just having a few problems with mine at the moment. Crashing on start-up. Just a little fiddle around I should have it working in a week or two.

    Excellent.

  9. Hey Dave, I just (finally) bought FSX and hope to get hold of the boonah scenery (got a link? LOL) I'd be keen to be around when you do the demo or whatever, also, a young fella (scott) has just started doing a bit of work at airsport and he is a mad keen sim fanatic so I will tell him too.

    David,

How are you mate. As you requested, I have the Download Link for Anthony Lynch's Boonah scenery:

Ants Aussie Airports Boonah - OZx Forum

It's absolutely fantastic scenery. I suggest you look at the other scenery packages available on the Aussiex.org website. Just click the Download File - away you go!

Post any problems that you may have installing this scenery.

    Cheers,

    Max.

  10. g'day again MGi'm actually waiting on the construction of a flightsim only computer at the moment, the box alone will turn out at $2.3k so it will produce a brilliant result with FSX

until i have to integrate it with other duties (until then it will not be set up at home) i am willing to bring it along to any evening flightsim sessions at Boonah

let me know how things progress

btw, flightsim groups are quite popular in the UK, guys get together all over the country for informative flightsim meetings

    cheers for now

    BP

    BP,

    Will do.

  11. Orienteer,

Sir. As a keen Flight Simulator enthusiast I also have three monitors in which I use whilst flying.

May I ask. What is your operating system? Can I get a model description of your Graphics card? I can solve this issue I just need these details to provide you with information in how to set up this feature.

Do you have Skype? I should be able to set up this up over a Screen share. My Skype is: max.lye

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon,

    Cheers,

  12. Third Party Contracts

    Gentlemen,

I think the best move here for Microsoft to impress us users is to contact third party companies being offered with contracts to develop specific sectors of Microsoft Flight whilst Microsoft brings it all together as a whole.

Imagine the scenery being of a FTX standard.

Imagine the aircraft being of a Captain Sim standard.

    I rest my case!

    Cheers,

  13. Contact

    BP,

Sounds great. Perhaps a feature article in the Magazine would be a good idea. I'm going to get onto Greg (CFI) at Boonah just to clear some things up with him in regards to the operation of this Virtual AirSport QLD.

I believe it's a fantastic idea to utilise the scenery at Boonah made by Anthony. Having 'nights' scheduled for people each Friday/Saturday Night or sometime during the week wouldn't be of a bad cause.

Like I said no further development cannot be made without Greg's endorsement. However, if you have any questions or queries. Please feel free to leave them here.

  14. Aye! Too right. I would sincerely hope at least some of those developers have been following some of the FSX forums out there and seen the miriad millions of postings from people complaining of the steep system requirements for FSX and that even modern day systems still struggle. As you might know, most of those problems came from poor coding in FSX and not necessarily a lack of hardware grunt.I also hope that we can port our investment in FSX gear and add-ons over to this new development.

Can't wait to see what transpires.

    Cheers,

    Absolutely,

Hopefully they'll take the time to read through the concerns and ideas that FSX Enthusiasts have posted regarding this new Microsoft Flight and what'd like to expect.

All I can say is. Strap yourself in and enjoy the ride!

    Cheers,

  15. CPU & Graphics Card

    Gentlemen,

Just a thought. With this new Microsoft Flight, I'm sure that we'll like to see drastic improvements in the workload balance between a computers CPU and Graphics Card. Without any costly results.

    Swiftly,

    M.G. Lye

  16. All,

I would to notify you all of my progress in establishing a Virtual Recreational Flying Community on FSX. The website is within it's final stages as things start to take shape. I wish to attract users from his particular forum that have a passion for flying to pull your fingers out and get involved.

This Virtual Community's resemblance to the real world is still be decided. However the airfield choice in Boonah, Queensland. For those who are unaware of this location/airfield. I suggest you all download Ant's Aussie Airports Boonah Scenery to have a better look. Aircraft that will be used at this airfield are generally not restricted however official freeware community aircraft are still to be decided.

If you are interested in joining this Virtual Community or wish to find out more information please either post your questions and queries below or you can email me: [email protected]

    Cheers,

  17. I work on a copper mine in the north of Lao not far from the old CIA bace , wet season over here so we have heaps of rain, looks a bit too damp in Vic and SA but still good to see.we have had some good rain in WA for a change, the farmers should be able to relax a bit.

Doesn't stop raining in the NT. Start of the Wet Season up here is November and it's already raining mid way through the dry season.

    Regards,

  18. Sorry, not close enough to Lethbridge but I would be interested in such a syndicate within cooee of Newcastle / Central Coast / Lower Hunter. I'd prefer a J230 but would look seriously at a J160. Not interested in either J120 or J170. Would consider other aircraft particularly if Rotax powered.

    BlackRod,

Would a Technam: Eaglet or Super Echo be an alternative?

    Cheers,
