  1. Thanks for the heads up Mark.

I'm just curious how the costs vary so significantly ie anywhere between $315 to $425 for the same product (VXA-220) and sold by Australian reputable suppliers.

How can we tell in that case that the product we buy from an Australian supplier is legitimate? Does one receive an approval certificate guaranteeing the product being an Australian version and compliant with ACMA ruling or is it the more you pay for it the more likely it is legal to use?

  2. Hi Fred, welcome........as a member of the ASC myself, my advise is, when you book an aircraft for flight tuition, make sure you havn't double booked an instructor. The booking system does not allow you to book an already booked aircraft, however it does allow you to double book an instructor. This causes all sorts of problems and the occasional punch up LOL cheers. Pete W.

Ah! a fellow ASC member ... Yes I checked out the booking system and hopefully haven't double booked. Look forward to meeting you at ASC.

  3. Hi all,

Just arrived on the scene and looking forward to some ideas, guidelines to.... well a newbie who is going to learn to fly in the Jabiru J160. I'll be 55 years old (26 Nov) and thought to myself that it's never too late to learn. So I checked out some recreational flying clubs and am now a member of the Adelaide Soaring Club in Gawler a club nearby my residency whereby I can pursue my flying debut.

Any hints etc for a newbie will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Fred
