  1. It's a good question. The primary source of information would be the ERSA but the MOGAS availability will come with qualifications like "by prior arrangement" and "from drums". If the data was in tabular format it would be easier to provide but it would be technically out of date in the next ERSA.

Clifton YCFN has MOGAS and this is in the ERSA.

    Gympie has MOGAS.

  2. GATTON AIRPARK ANNUAL BREAKFAST FLY-IN SUNDAY MAY 12

A Mother's Day ritual ! We enjoyed a hearty breakfast provided by the Mens Shed crew, in picture perfect conditions with 42+ aircraft of all different types including a new RV 10.

A great thank you to all who made it possible, all the mothers and visitors who attended were made very welcomed indeed.

  3. It was a great trip, here are some photos of our time flying Victor 1, arriving at Wollongong and then at Cowra at the Japanese Gardens etc before being transferred to Canowindra for the World Balloon Championships and festival, by our great tour guide Allan of Ideal Tours at Cowra. Canowindra doesn’t have a airstrip any longer.

We stopped into Moree on our way home and did the Cotton Gin Tour while stopping at the Old faithful Phoenix Dragon Motel with hot springs.

A memorable trip with a great crew.

  4. One of our pilots did land Pipestrel between the cross strip and main, but that’s another story. We were informed inbound by the Broken hill Airport Manager that the cross strip closed regardless of the conditions.

We all put in a great effort and taxied in with white knuckles and a few more Grey hairs.

We Were completing our yearly flying Safari, this time it was to Ayres Rock from Brisbane. Lake Eyre was nearly full at the time.

A very memorable trip with a great crew, with many to top photos and video made by Scott Hendry.

Good to see you enjoyed it too.

  5. Here is a photo of my GPS indicating a Ground Speed of 156 kts enroute to Broken Hill from William Creek, in our Tecnam Echo., indicating 100 kts airspeed.

Landed, crosswind on 32 also due to the cross strip being closed due to rain.

Adelaide Centre informed us it was 23 gusting to 32 kts at 170 degrees which made for a Adrenaline pumped landing experience for all 5 aircraft. All safe with vivid memories as you can imagine.

  6. Karin and Russel Middleton ( Maryborough Aero Club) did a great job this year, approx 25 planes arrived in picture perfect conditions. The Car, Bike, vintage aircraft displays and Scottish Band all made for an entertaining event.

The Saturday night Spit roasts Dinner was a memorable feast with everyone enjoying a great get together.

The Local councillors were present who thanked the organisers and Aviation community for a job well done.

Next morning we were again treated to a sumptuous breakfast before we departed for the Seafood Festival at Harvey Bay.

All in all a great weekend and look forward to next years event.

    The photos say it all.

  7. Fraser Coast Wings and Wheels Event. Saturday 11th August Maryborough Airport and Harvey Bay Seafood Festival Sunday 12th August.

Here is a action packed weekend or day Flyin event worth considering.

Maryborough Aero Club are happy to provide a breakfast for those who are coming along and where possible will provide transport to and from your motels.

Karen, events co-ordinator, suggests we could otherwise use the local taxi service that wouldn’t be very expensive as the motels she recommends are literally only a couple of minutes drive down the road.

Maryborough Motels that Karen is recommending are

    McNevins Motel Maryborough

    188 John Street

    Maryborough

    Email: [email protected]

    Phone: 41 222 888

    and

    Best Western Kimba Lodge

    177 John Street

    Maryborough

    Phone: 41 233 999

Both of these are in the same area and are actually straight across the road from each-other.

Please let Karen know if you would like to attend the Spit Roast dinner, on the Saturday night as there will be limited seating so she would need a firm number by 1st August.

Cost for the Spit Roast dinner is $30.00 per person.

Karen is not sure on the cost for the breakfast as yet but will probably be somewhere between $10 and $15 per person

Confirm your attendance and dinner bookings for the Wings and wheels event with Karin Middleton, ASAP.

For those interested in the Harvey Bay Seafood Festival, we will fly over to Harvey Bay airport and book a Maxi Cab to enjoy the food and atmosphere of this yearly festival

  10. Here is a timely article received today from Flight Safety Australia that may bring this subject back to what Night VFR / instrument flying involves.

This articles covers the many dangers of spartial disorientation that need to be learned and highlights the importance of Currency, Compentancy and Confidence in your ability to cope with flying in IMC or similar.

  12. if you don't have the correct GPS to slave the Trutrak to, it won't work properly, email there service / support section to verify. Otherwise I suggest purchasing the Garmin D5 or Dynon D2 or even an old D1 without Wi Fi if you can find one. My set up is working fine as is a few friends D2's

Call Avisist Avionics at Redcliffe Airport for there advice, a very friendly group to work with.
