Good effort! But if the right wing had fallen off it would be spinning in the other direction.... Lift coming from left wing :)

You can tell it's BS because the link starts with "www.news.com.au"How does a pilot eyeball a missile and avoid it in a passenger jet? Sounds like more BS to me.- 2

I have the same issue with one of my polarised pairs of sunnies but not another one.. The lenses are angled 90 degrees to each other, if that makes sense!I had a MGL combination instrument in my Starlet and can't recall any issues with polarized sunnies. An iPad though is affected - I'm using an iPad in 'portrait' mode in my Jabby and while out flying last Wednesday put my sunnies on. The iPad was blacked out; at first I thought it had turned off. -
Maybe there was no fuel left in the tanks? There really is no excuse for running out of fuel these days, but it seems to happen quite often...I was amazed that there was no fire...food for thought there? and I am not saying anything...just an observation...David -

This kind of incident is scary because it is not a case of somebody failing to adhere to protocols, but simple human error. The kind of error that causes huge crashes with loss of life. Good thing the controller was on the ball in the end!

My dad has had one of these in a hangar out in the wheatbelt for 20 years... I should really pull it out and take some photos. It is almost identical to this one except it's yellow and doesn't have the back part of the pod. I never realised it was an early rotax engine!

What a beautiful aeroplane. True pornography. At least it appears to be fixable :)

US Rego as well... I wonder how long the aircraft had been in Australia for

We all know what happens when you dip a wheel in the water on a beach after seeing the video of the Jab on the beach... Hanging from the straps upside down with waves crashing against the aircraft would be a pretty frightening experience :/

Beautiful old Cessna. Shame to lose another of the few tail draggers around :(

It's starting to look more and more like an attack... 2 passengers travelling on stolen passports (how does that even happen in this day and age?) and 2 more "being investigated". FBI and NTSB are both sending teams.
Parallels between Air France 447 and this have been made in the sense that people jumped to this conclusion and it turned out to be pilot error, but that crash happened in a pretty severe storm and this was a clear night. It's hard to imagine how an experienced captain and co pilot can crash a modern airliner when they are cruising at 35,000.

The $180 recharge will get you 12GB as pointed out above.. $15 bucks a month for 1GB is a bargain for low users, but for most people it is a tiny alllowance. Telstra are doing $20/month off home ADSL bundles if you are connecting a new broadband service so they are actually competitive for the rest of the month!About to get talked into getting rid of our landline with internet plus ??This day and age we all have our trusty smart phones, and iPads are common place. My iPad has a prepaid card $180 yr.......giving me next to unlimited data, throw in Skype and all is great. iPhone x 2 with $600 plus call allowance per month costs me $100 mth.

Something tells me they aren't going to find everyone happily floating around in a life raft, unfortunately... I hope they get to the bottom of why it crashed quickly, a 777 going down in clear weather with no distress signals is surprising

There is an old thread on here if you can dig it up...

It makes me a bit angry to think that somebody died in that accident... Someone didn't do their job

Yeah, saw it ages ago. I was stunned when I saw this and realised that the pilot had no idea about the inputs the other pilot was making! I knew that it was fly-by-wire, but assumed the sticks were still linked. I have to agree, I don't think the accident would have happened in a Boeing.New?. This accident has already been done. -
Had a read of this the other night... I didn't realise that he struggled on for so long! Why he took off that day will remain a mystery...
-
I think you're on the money... But as they say, "any landing you walk away from..."It did look to me like it stalled and dropped in on the left... Apparently she was a feisty girl and much loved by all who rode her...did you see the pilot give her an affectionate pat? -
Silver with a red nose. RIPWas that the red one with the silver nose? -
There is an informative video on perthnow...
