I'm glad I asked, I had the same issue landing the Jab, even controlling the bloody thing taxiing lol. I switched to another Instructors aircraft, Tecnam and had no issues whatsoever. The Jab (for me at least was a lot harder to handle, the instructor said its the way the nose wheel is controlled, single rather than dual?). I am now flying the Jab and ALL is good but I couldn't believe the difference in the on ground handling.

  2. Without trying to sound cynical about this event as I don’t know the exact circumstancesUnless your running out of daylight, fuel or it is a huge wide as far as the eye can see storm, you have ample air away from it until it passes giving it a wide berth in the process

Off Topic Alf but just passed my Cert in the Tecnam, beautiful Aircraft.

  3. Little information available but Accident report states

    27-11-2017 18:30 781 / WM VIC Accident Yarrawonga Airfield P&M Quik GTR

Pilot elected to land ahead of a storm front moving through the area. Pilot experienced turbulence due to a gust front (which are known to extend many kilometers ahead of a storm cell) Pilot experienced severe turbulence during late final and roundout causing impact with runway. Aircraft damaged on impact.

Pilots should familiarize themselves with the gust front phenomenon and adjust landing decisions accordingly. see -

  4. Hi Scre, TBH I was caught out on a couple of questions and had to go back to revise, I have only recently gone to 3 Axis from Weight Shift and the bias was obviously centered on that, I guess my mechanical skills were not quite up to speed 003_cheezy_grin.gif.c5a94fc2937f61b556d8146a1bc97ef8.gif. I enjoyed it though. Yes Training information was good and the exam was comprehensive.

    Good luck and Enjoy

  5. Has this been covered before? Does anyone else find the automated RAaus email stating that they will respond in 7 - 15 Business Days a little frustrating?

My business wouldn't survive if I had that as a general response to queries.
