Hello Ben, I am new on this site I found it when I was researching our flights to Australia for the £10 pomy flights. I was employed by Eagle in the sixties and run the British Eagle Airlines archives here in the UK. We have a number of passenger manifests which includes the registration of the aircraft. If you are interested and let me have the dates your farther arrive in Australia we may hold the passenger manifest which you might not have and would be interested in a copy.Let me know.Regards Eric

For a few years I have been wanting to attempt to get my PPL but I can never find any sites for Melbourne that I can read about how to get started, if anyone can link me that would be awesome.

Also how much do lessons usually cost? Including plane hire? What are the requirements to be able to get a PPL?

And finally any companies in the northern suburbs of Melbourne that can give me lessons?

I am trying to help my dad add flights to flight memory, he has quite a few flights from the late 80s up until early 2000s and we are trying to find aircraft used and flight numbers as well, i know for more recent flights i can use Flight Stats and Acars, but these don't have information for older flights, so if there is a way to find this out i would be glad to hear, otherwise is there a way i can find what aircraft airlines used to certain airports form these times?

And 1 last question, did Continental fly to Melbourne in 1988?

Thanks, so I got in contact with my grandfather and he said it was a turbo prop, and was definitely operated by British eagle. Does anyone know which routes they used in late 1964?

Thanks for the reply, I have never heard of that airline, but I can see why he was thinking it was British airways now. I'm not sure if this helps but the fare they paid was a huge sale, it was only £10 to Australia, also do you know what he routing was for these charters?

So i am trying to find out what aircraft my dad flew on when his family moved to Australia he said it was with British Airways which i think was BOAC back then, and was hoping someone might know something about aircraft used and routes flown from November 1964. My dad was only 4 when he moved here but he knows that they had several stopovers which some were BOM and DRW and landing at Essendon Airport, and that the plane had propellers not jets.

My dad just got home from Sydney on Tiger to Melbourne, landing at about 7pm. He says just as they were about to land they aborted the landing and had to circle around to safely land, anyway does anyone know why this happened?

does anyone know if the Atlas 747F had any problems yesterday? flights sometimes fly over my place but this one yesterday was really low and you could feel the vibrations in the house, im about 40km from MEL airport.

Does anyone else use jetphotos to log the aircraft they spot?

If yes, are you able to actually view your spottings? I haven't been able to for over a week and want to know if it's just me.
