Hi isaviator, I got my GA license at San Carlos whilst working for Transair. I did nav's down that way to Salinas, Hollister and Reid Hillview. Never dropped into San Martin but I do know where it is right by the highway.Maybe the restaurant our friend is thinking of was the Flying Lady Cafe ?.......is it still there...it was a bit of a Museum.

Yes, the T-38 was the precursor of the F-5. The 41A was a 172 with an O-300. C model had an O-360. Paul
