Kuya's Achievements

  1. Thats why we were teaching at the university. Chinese pilots used to fly with an interpreter when they went international. We trained pilots to use conversational English so they could communicate in plain English with ATC and other aircraft. Our systems and teaching methods are still in China today. We also tutored pilots to pass the Level 4 ICAO English exam which is now a requirement for international flight crews.
  2. Hi, My licence has lapsed but I stay interested in flying. I learned to fly in a Skyfox, was part owner of a Jabiru J200 and also had a GFPT. I taught Aviation English (how to talk to ATC and other aircraft in plain English in an emergency) to Chinese pilots at the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) in Sichuan, China. CAFUC is the world's largest flying school with over 6000 students. It is situated in Sichuan Province between the Hindu Kush and the warm plains of central China. Warm air meets cold air so it is foggy 360 days of the year. Student pilots must perform an instrument approach on their very first landing. Training is done it glass-cockpit 172s and pilots never fly solo. Always four people in the aircraft.
