  1. I have the green slime in my flight design Ctls tires. I land on our farm strip and taxi about 3km to shed. First landing. Two flats from those large cat head 3 spiked burrs.

Stripped them, new tubes and green slime. Hundreds of landings since and no flats. In fact, they do not ever even need air. I can't feel it in the tyre on either take off or landing.

  2. Burping hot works for oil level checking prior to next start but i always like to turn the prop through a few turns before start as this operates the oil pump supplying oil into the engine so bearings and valve train start under fresh lubrication.

  3. A very sad day for all his family, friends and fellow aviators. Please good people cease drawing conclusions as to the cause of Rob's demise, let the experts who will soon have all the information available to them, draw an informed conclusion. It saddens me that whenever a Jab is involved in an accident it is immediately assumed that the motor is at fault. This accident was a catastrophic event, probably mid air. There was no radio transmission or beacon activation which indicates a without warning, sudden event occurred. This is the second time in 12 moths that our club has lost a much loved by all member and it is a lot of hurt for a lot of people at this time so lets just continue to pay our condolences to his family without any assumptions at this time about the cause of the incident.

"Please good people cease drawing conclusions....." and then you proceed to draw conclusions. Oh my.

  4. If it is any consolation, I don't read any "overtone" in those statements.

It is OK though for reasonable people to see talk as cheap. That should not be construed as criticism.

And as well, those in a competitive business situation with another, far from having special license to comment instead need to be especially cautious.

  5. Just throwing it out there. I think we should eliminate Boxing Day and move Xmas day to the 26th Jan and just refer to it as Australia Day. That way we could remove the unreasonable costs of needless public holidays on employers and at the same time the divisiveness of Xmas symbolism would be removed. If you still want all those bells and whistles, tough luck, move to another country.
