Hi all,
been lurking here for quite a while and appreciate the wealth and diversity of knowledge and opinions.
PPL at close of last century, ME, NVFR, Gyro trained this century and still own G2244.
Not been flying either GA or Rotary for a while secondary to work, life distractions, but resuming soon.
Current Class 2 medical and own an aircraft, hangar and our own strip, so any excuses seem rather lame.
Cheers,
Mike

Sad news, Plane crashes near Renmark
in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents

We live 3ks from crash site. Media Rotary wing vultures in abundance today.
Massive loss indeed of 3 highly trained men and I would suggest with CASA personnel on-board that major risk averse operations were likely in place.
"Training flight" might be better termed "Operational Check flight" given Paul was highly experienced with Rossair and about to retire.
Containment of wreckage at site in photo suggests low speed arrival in my completely inexpert opinion.
ATSB will in time provide the appropriate professional determination of the chain of causation.
