  1. The Lightwing Speed 2000 is one of the easiest planes to get out of with its gull wing doors. You could even unlatch them just before touching down in the water if you thought that was going to be smart. Also, being a low wing adds to your chances of getting out if you can ditch at an angle much better than 45 degrees at stall speed.I did V1 with a very experienced instructor a few weeks back and there is no way, when you are restricted to exactly 500', that you can glide to shore all along V1 South. On V1 North at 1,000' you should be able to make it to the beach with a 10:1 glide path (or better).

V1 is 500ft in both directions.

  2. I am looking for an RA-Aus registered aircraft to hire privately located in or around the Sydney basin. I am mainly looking to do some weekend trips etc. I would prefer a Jabiru or similar but would happily consider all options. If anyone is aware of any available aircraft I would be very grateful for some contact details.

    Thnks, Greg

  3. Hi Everyone,

My name is Greg Cox I have been flying a Tecnam & Jabiru out of Hoxton Park completed about 80 hours RAA so far and just about to start GA training next Saturday with Basair at Bankstown.

As sonn as my order arrives from the states I will commence building my Zodiac 601XL, should be in the next week or two. I believe that I will most likely upgrade to the new 650XL.

I will definately be going to Cowra, just not sure at this stage if I will fly or drive.

    Regards, Greg
