  5. Hi Peter. It's a lot of history packed in a small country that happens to be in the strategic river delta of the Rhine and Meuse. The Defense line of Amsterday forts are concrete structures with an earth layer on the side facing where the enemy would come from. They are still there, although most of them not open to the public. See this page about Fort Spijkerboor that we visited recently

  9. Thanks for the responses. I did not know the story about the Junkers W33 "Atlantis". Interesting. Thanks for the tip ? Atlantis refuelling in Koepang
  10. The original plan for a trip to the French Alps did not materialize. The weather was just not good enough for the trip. But we made good with some nice flights, and also I did the two-yearly training flight. The weather would not be good in the weekend. On Friday we returned the plane to its base. But not before we made a visit to Bremen. The Junkers w33 in Bremen A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
  11. Team sailplane flying is still enroute by car to the French Alps, and have stopped at Dijon, Darois aerodrome. They visited the nice city of Dijon. I just made a little sightseeing flight on Tuesday. St.John's Cathedral, 's-Hertogenbosch A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
  12. Thank you. Indeed it is a 1974 Standard Libelle 201B ?
  13. Veleda and Maurits are enroute to La Motte-du-Caire in the French Alps for glider flying. They left on Saturday morning, but then I received a call that they would first visit St. Hubert in the Belgian Ardennes for two days. The weather in the French Alps was not good yet for glider flying. On Sunday I made a day trip to St. Hubert to visit them. Maurits has landed Trip to St. Hubert in the Belgian Ardennes -o-o-
  14. Veleda and Maurits were going to La Motte-du-Caire in the French Alps for glider flying. I was going to follow them in the first week with a Piper Archer. But would the weather permit flying in April? First, get a plane. With the plane at Hilversum A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
  15. Last weekend we had guests from abroad. We invited them for some flying on Monday. The weather on Monday was fantastic. On the way I told a few things about what we saw. St.Elizabeth's flood (1421) A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
