Not sure about the relation to aviation, but the naval stuff is correct. Steerboard became Starboard (right) and Port, well Port (left)
They would never dock steerboard side to the dock as damage to the steerboard was highly likely.
Other note, the word "Posh" is alleged to come from sea travel to Africa. Wealthy travellers would book a P.O.S.H. Cabin ticket.
Portside Out - Starboad Home. The idea being they could see land out their cabin window on both trips.
POSH...FWIW also urban legend...

I have one of those lithium jump starters that cost about $150 on ebay. It easily starts my 7l diesel cat55 tractor when it has a low battery from sitting in the shed to long. After checking the safety aspect of taking it flying with RFguy it is perfect for recharging personal devices when flying to remote camps. I must admit I always thought these things were a bit of a joke with their tiny leads, they work.
Thanks Thruster, am looking at the 'Gooloo 4000'....cheers.

Easy, battery under the seat, have jump started off a Hilux. Was simple.enough on one freezing morning in the outback, this was before the battery upgrade.

You can Prop that engine but better to know how to do it safely. The Impulse mag will fire at zero speed. Better the prop is indexed to the compression TDC position. of the prop.to be in the right place. Nev
Hope am not hijacking this thread, yes am aware of this, thanks Nev, just looking at easier alternatives.
Cheers.

Just on this topic, I have a Piper Colt with an O-320, anyone got any suggestions on a good lightweight (as possible) portable battery jump starter that works well, other than the default Hemmingway method....
