Thruster87
What should the tension be on the rudder cables [the length and the thickness/Dia of the bungee cords] as the old ones are worn. Thank you
Guest TOSGcentral
There is no set tension given for the rudder circuit. In common with most gliders, the Thruster rudder set up is 'open circuit' so the function of the bungees are 1. to keep the rudder pedals upright when you take your feet off them, and 2. to stop the rudder cables hanging in slack loops down the back also when your feet are off the pedals. Tension therefore simply needs to be sufficient to do this. I like my circuits reasonably firm so run some fairly tight bungees. Replacement material I use is the common 'ocky strap' material which is available anywhere in a range of lengths. I cut the big hooks of it as these tend to clutter up the pedal assembly Tony
