503 Hub and Prop

I was talking with a mate today discussing fitting a 3 blade prop to his Rotax 503 powered Thruster Gemini. What would be the cost to buy the hub, pitch blocks and 3 blade prop for the conversion - new, 2nd hand? Would the existing reduction box need to be replaced as well?

Hey Pud

Should be no need to change the re-drive G\box I have a 503 with "B" type box, 2.58:1 ratio, runs a 58" prop. You would need to look at the pitch tho and this would be set in accordance your climb, cruise performance requirements and is no big secret as to how to determine. Talk to one of the suppliers and they will have charts which can be a very useful guide.
