Guest Guest
Happy landings To be an airline pilot it certainly helps to have a sense of humour, preferably a little twisted. It surfaces every now and again in comments they make to their beloved passengers. On one occasion a pilot in the US announced: "We are pleased to have some of the best flight attendants in the industry, unfortunately none of them are on this flight". Some crew members get their own back, however. After a less than perfect landing in California, one flight attendant announced: "Well ladies and gentlemen, please remain in your seats until Captain Crash and the Crew have brought your plane to a screeching halt against the gate." On another occasion, after a scary landing, the first officer was sent to see the passengers disembark and handle any awkward questions. To his surprise there were only a few disgruntled comments until an old lady asked him: "Do you mind if I ask a question?" "Why, no ma'am," said the first officer. "What is it?" The old lady looked at him and said: "Did we land or were we shot down?"
