Ground handling event involving Malaysian A330 at Melbourne

The ATSB is investigating a ground handling event involving a Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330.

 

On 31 March 2016, at about 0100 Eastern Daylight-saving Time1, an Airbus A330, registered 9M-MTB and operated by Malaysia Airlines, was being prepared for departure at Melbourne Airport, Victoria.

 

During passenger boarding, the aircraft rolled rearwards from the gate about 2-3 m. The aerobridge and the aircraft’s forward left door were damaged. There were no reported injuries.
