planedriver Posted June 12, 2016 Share Posted June 12, 2016 Thanks for posting those videos Dominic. I miss Biggin Hill, as I used to be a regular there when I lived nearby in Selsdon. Occasionally, a pilot would do a fast low-level run heading west along the runway, cross the road, and drop out of view into the valley. Everyone's heart was in their mouth, waiting for the bang and puff of smoke to appear, but they'd swing around out of sight and to much relief reappear again from the other end of the runway. Got a short ride in a Lancaster at Biggin which was being restored many decades ago. Bloody noisy thing inside, thought it was going to shake itself apart.
