Guest Ultralights Posted July 3, 2005 Share Posted July 3, 2005 Some time ago, while visiting relatives in Harvey bay, i Hired a C172 and took a quick flight around the area. departed from Harvey Bay, straight out and tracked north up the west coast of the Island. Turning point around the lighthouse near the northernmost point. The Northern Most Point! note the size of the boats in the shallows! Flying 500 Ft down the east coast of the Island, for some reason Fraser is always shrouded in rain clouds! i guess thats why a rainforest grows on sand dunes! The Chery venture shipwreck. turning back west towards harvey bay, passing one of the many fresh water, but icy cold lakes! crossing the channel to Join downwind , The town of Harvey bay on the right. Harvey Bay, with the marina in the upper right. Short final Hopefully in the next month i will get back up there, and have a look at the airport now it has been expanded and upgraded to take a B737.
