Guest Swagman
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4665194.stm gives you all the tips on how to upgrade from economy to business. I once scored an upgrade to business class on JAL - very nice but felt sorry for the business types sat around me who probably paid twice as much as I did for the same service. Guest Sunshy
First class is so much nicer, isn't it? A great tip to get upgraded not mentioned in the article, is to talk to the steward when boarding. Make sure you tell him/her that your a pilot/engineer/flight attendant or anything related to aviation. I get business/first upgrades just for being a LAME on about 8 out of 10 flights. Also, knowing the ground handler off the flight will get you an assured upgrade. I know I'm flying first if I know the handler on whatever flight I'm on. Guest colt_pa22
It's a lot harder to do this on Qantas due to risk of termination if caught when travelling on a staff ticket. colt
