TAA Student Pilot
The ole fumes in the cockpit that's no problem according to CASA and the manufacturer.
Guest Steve R
Seems to have been sorted - at least according to pprune for what that's worth Earlier this morning a National Jet 146 was 40miles out of Ravensthorpe airport in the south west of WA when a fire broke out in the cabin. The flight crew declared a PAN PAN emergency and returned to raventhorpe, the cabin crew managed to put the fire out before emergency services arrive. TAA Student Pilot
Wouldn't be the first time some of the know it alls on prune got it wrong, if it was a fire you think they'd have maybe done a mayday? These fume problems have been ongoing since the 146 was first produced. There has been action to try to fix the problem but nothing will be done. Crews have been debilitated pax have been affected, I'm sure there are still crew not being able to work from problems with fumes. The fumes are turbine engine oil fumes and are extremely toxic. CASA says no problem. You would think if there is a serious prang with multiple fatalities then CASA would be responsible for not fulfilling it's "duty of care". Guest vh-tqp
totally o/t, but hey VH-TJT, another TAA reg, and your avatar looks like a '9. love the camel hump livery, second only to the blue tail / white T.
Guest VH-TJT
Yes it is the first TJT. Wouldn't it be great if Qantas repainted 3 737-800's in the: Blue tail / white T, Camel hump and, Australian Airlines liveries Similar to what other airlines, such as US airways have done. Guest VH-TJT
VH-NJE - British Aerospace BAE 146 (BAE 146-100). I remember seeing a segment on the Sunday program a few years ago, I remember Ansett only having fumes problems on the -300 146's, but I don't think the problem is limited to only this model.
