February 2008

Recommended Posts

Congratulations to Yenn for winning last month's competition. An awesome shot of a T28 at dawn at the Old Station Fly-in.

Time then to begin the competition for February. To win the next three editions of Australian Flying magazine for absolutely FREE, simply post your pictures or stories in this thread. The best of Aussie luck to you.

Oh, also don't forget a Caption for your image and just say if you also have another copy of the image that is:

  • jpg format

  • at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) at a usable size (say 6" x 4" or around 16 x 10 cms)

  • and if to be considered as a cover pic - in vertical format

  • aircraft(s) identified in caption

So if you win, your picture could go into Australian Flying magazine.

This should be a big month for flying, so get snapping and get the pictures into this thread for your chance to win.

AND a HUGE thanks to Australian Flying for supporting this great competition 011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif 011_clap.gif.8adfe837b4189ee6622bf4917d6a88c0.gif 011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

B2 or not B2, that is the question

Sorry about the poor quality, but I had to scan these in from my original 35mm photos. Couldn't decide which I liked best. Anywho, for those that are interested, it was landing at RAF Fairford, UK.

Redair.

looking at the second photo it comes across as one big aircraft. I could take off on one wing fly over the cockpit and land on the other, easy. the third photo reminds me of something the Aboriginals designed several thousand years ago.

interesting photos of something never seen here.

Just because it hasn't been seen, doesn't mean it's not here!!!!006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

There was a lot of thought that the B2 was the cause of many so-called UFO sightings in the UK, and you would not believe the rumours that surrounded it, regarding it's radar-invisibility, and the special paint that meant you could not take pictures of it either! Looks like I proved that one wrong... mind you, they might just have turned the cloaking device off! Klingon technology is here!

My efforts...

The Lockheed Hudson starting up at Temora on my visit in 2005.

And Citation X VH-TEN at Mudgee in 2006.

I don't know how to upload these as thumbnails so this size is the best I can get to fit the screen at the moment, original is about twice this size.

Thanks Darren,

I'm proud of them, not as good as some of the stuff on Airliners etc but I like em :-) How's ya been by the way? Your pics of the SY-OOL flight look quite nice too, I went up there last Friday morning came back Saturday night, Jetstar not VB unfortunately. My uncles flight before ours got sh1t canned, they had to leave at 0430 Sunday morning, what a bugger.

First up, my apologies for taking so long to judge Feb's competition. Congratulations to a very worthy winner: Crazy Diamond, for his nostalgic shot of the Lockheed Hudson at Temora. Well done. Please email me ([email protected]) with your postal address so we can get your complimentary issues of Australian Flying out to you.

Safe flying to you all.
