STS 131 Discovery:

 

All systems are go for this Mondays launch of Discovery to the ISS, weather for the next 2 weeks is all very favorable, even for the landing on Sunday 18th, all USA and Overseas Emergency landing sites all have favorable weather as well.

 

Details:

 

Date: April 5

 

Mission: STS-131

 

Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Discovery

 

Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A

 

Launch Time: 6:21 a.m. EDT

 

Landing Date and Time: April 18 - 8:29 a.m. EDT +

 

Description: Space shuttle Discovery will carry a Multi-Purpose Logistics Module filled with science racks that will be transferred to laboratories of the International Space Station.

 

Lanch is at USA Time 0621 EDT (Florida) Monday 5th April.

 

Perth Time is 1821 WST.

 

East Coast time is 2121 EST.

 

SA/NT Time is 2051 CT.

 

Landing in RED is subject to weather conditions, Update later.

All times are taken from CDT except for Physical landing at KSC, thats EST.

Docking scheduled for Wednesday 7th April at 1444 Perth Time, 1744 East Coast time, Live Space walks can be watched and found on the TV Schedule link above, add 12 hrs for WA + 3 more for East Coast, Un-docking will be Friday 16th April at Perth Time 1455, same add 3 hrs for East Coast times, De-orbit burn will be on First attempt, subject to weather at KSC, on Sunday 18th April at 1827 Perth Time plus 3 for East Coast. Landing will be at 2029 Perth Time plus 3 hrs for east Coast time., Double Sonic booms of breaking the Sound Barrier will be heard approx 4 mins to physical Touch down at KSC.

 

Data: Space Station and Shuttle are traveling around the world every 90 mins, and at 17000 KPH or 28000 Metres per second. landing is at approx 1400 MPH
