Relfy
Excellent vid Kevin and a really good reference for people flying to and using Orchid Beach Airstrip. I did a precautionary search there in a 170 and it was really quite rough approaching the threshold. I think I was getting some ridge air. Nice landing too!
ndy
Nice work Kevin, I am local to the area, but am just starting out, orchid beach will be on the list of landing sites for future exploration. Thanks for the video!

kevinmills1956
This stunningly beautiful landing strip can be challenging to land and take off on. Pilots who recently landed there , advocate only using a 6 cylinder aircraft on a cool day . .It is short ( 678m) and the grass can be " sticky" in the middle section. I practiced 100 short field take offs and landings before landing there with a 6 cylinder Jabiru 230 D.
