I must admit I came the other way too, though there are times when 2 seats just doesn't cut it.

So here is your Answer As per CAR 5.84

hold a class 2 medical

Minimum of 40 Hours flight time including:-

at least 5 hours General flying as Pilot in Command (ie solo)

and

at least 5 hours of Cross country flight time as pilot in command

and

at least 2 hours of Instrument flight time

This may be in a Registered Airplane, a recognised Airplane (ie foreign registered or military), a helicopter, Gyroplane, glider, power assisted glider, or a group A Ultralight.

1 of the Navs must be more than 150 miles with full stop landings at two or more airports.

so finish your RAA certificates and endorsements, then apply.

Regards,

AusDarren

At the Warwick Airshow in September they had a T28 and a Yak both doing joyflights. The T28 was in the $500 price range, the Yak was quite a bit less.

Both did quite a few flights during the day, So you can do it.

Jetgirl on this forum could probably tell you who the operator was, she operates a Yak and a Strikemaster out of Ballarat, And I suspect knows the other operators around the country.

Good Luck!

Regards,

AusDarren.
