Well, after many hours of circuit bashing I finally flew my first solo circuit today. Now I know the reason for all of those goofy grins I've seen in first solo photos.

Looking forward to getting out of the pattern and back into the training area again next week.

Hi Andy,Wow, not only do you fly out of the same place I do, you live in my suburb as well!

 

Lilydale is a good place to learn, although I agree with Graeme, there are days when you just really wish there was a cross runway! It's good that you're starting in summer, I started in May (right before winter) so had a fair few lessons cancelled because of crosswinds and bad weather... thumb_down

Hi All,

After many years of dreaming about it and a couple of TIFs, I've finally taken the leap and decided to takes some flying lessons out at Lilydale.

I nearly got in the air last Sunday, but after taxiing out to the strip we had to abort because of high wind. Apparently being thrown around in unstable air isn't favorable when learning straight and level flight...

Looking forward to a second attempt this weekend, and to many more.
