Just saw the Kathrysn reports photos.. think he did well to get it down, good on him using the chute. I know the guy who took the photos, works for Essential Energy, wonder if he was near power lines .. They walked away, a good result.

I happened to see this Jab in at Orange on Tuesday, front end worse for wear i will say, try turning prop, no way! Inside cock pit looked fine, front nosewheel and parts of engine hanging underneath after flipping over in rough paddock, 100 points given to pilot ! He walked away!

Thanks for comments Linda.. I used a Contour Nflight cam GPS , it has audio jack in bottom of camera, also has cable/adaptor which plugs directly into cockpit audio, then headset into that adaptor. The camera is 1080P HD also! I thought the Go pro 2 also recorded audio, has jack in side camera. I have Go pro original, noticed coudnt really record audio, so found the Contour camera. http://www.nflightcam.com/ hope this helps.. Dave

Less than a month away now until Bathurst Races, do we have any keen flyers coming in for the week/Day's.
Looking to be a massive year, 50th Anniversay this year. Could imagine the air traffic this year will be fantastic!
I also run Live radio scanners for the event, from Race control, V8 Teams, Air traffic and the normal emergency services as well.
All links can be found at my webpage www.bathurstscan.com Race control etc will be added during first practice sessions around Oct 4th.
With my 2 weeks standard off work, hope to also fly during this week before airspace becomes clogged with arriving traffic.

Ive been checking each day also, still not out! Suprised! CTAF 126.7, could be busy frequency with so many other airports on it, nearby.
-
Planning on attaching my Contour camera and cockpit audio record for a clip later on! Will be good hearing traffic inbound as I did with Temora.
-
Sounds great Cazza.. will be there.pilotdave, stop by the Jabiru Marque and have a snag and a chin wag with us.Cazza -
The temps out there can be warmer than Bathurst, says on weatherzone, 18 - 22, down to 5 deg, pending if you stay at night.! Worth bringing something warm if a cold breeze whips up, which is possible!Pilotdave, just how cold is it in that general area? Should I be bringing the fleece? -
So far the weather looking good next weekend ..

I do wonder how rough this paddock would of been to land in, large enough, would of been bumpy, lose landing gear anyway, less more damage than using chute, more injury or less ? no one will know. I guess, had he not used chute and forced landing was worse off, people would of asked, why not use chute!
So many questions to ponder!
Either way. well done!
