  1. I'm sure this is the same aircraft. I will have to investigate further, but I believe the orginal owner/builder of the aircraft lived down south. The aircrafts callsign is VH-SFG, which is feautured on the side of the aircraft in your photos. I believe they must of changed these to replicate the orginal aircraft as they are only stickers and not painted on. Thanks for the photo, I will archive.
  2. G'day Doug, I thought it may be easier for me just to quickly do it, hope you didn't mind. It should be there now, for October - let me know if it's what you wanted. Thanks, and I hope it goes well. Tom
  3. Hi Tomo, I'm having difficulty publishing my fly-in on your calendar of events. Could you help me solve this problem. Thanks Doug
  4. “Wings of Life” is a charity that has been developed by Douglas Field a Griffith Bachelor of Aviation student to for fill the role of a project which highlights the achievements of this degree. The Wings of Life charity raises funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) through hosting numerous events, predominantly related to aviation. The inaugural event being hosted by Wings of Life is a charity fly-in and tradeshow at Archer Falls Airfield. The Fly-in and Tradeshow is a one-off event that will be conducted over 2 days on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of October, 2010. This event is not only open to aviators, but their friends, family, and all members of the community are welcome to attend this fun filled weekend. There will be numerous trade displays from aircraft manufacturers and equipment, flying schools, farm equipment, fine wines and even hand crafted jewellery. Those who attend will have the opportunity to participate in helicopter joy flights and trial introductory flights. Archer Falls Airfield is a private airfield located nearby the small township of Kilcoy in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland. Kilcoy is approximately an hours drive North of Brisbane and the Airfield is 12km to the east of Kilcoy township. There is accommodation available in the nearby towns of Woodford and Kilcoy at Motels and Home stays. If you require transportation to the accommodation please contact the organisers of the event. Alternatively there are numerous acres of prepared camping areas so pack a tent and a sleeping bag and dwell amongst the picturesque bushland surrounding the airfield. Shower and toilet facilities are available. For the aviators that are intending on flying into the event go to the Archer Falls Airfield website for details on the aerodrome runways, parking etc. There will be a single landing fee per aircraft of $5 (tax deductible) imposed over the two days and a $2 entry fee for those who attend by other means of transportation that will go towards the “Wings of Life” charity. AVGAS and premium unleaded will be available. Archer Falls Airfield’s clubhouse was previously a Winery which encompasses a beautiful handcrafted bar, kitchen, and entertainment areas. Wongooroo Estate a local winery will be operating the bar and kitchen over the weekend and will be providing catering for breakfast (Sunday only), morning tea, lunch, and dinner (Saturday night) and will also be responsible for the sale of beverages. Some lovely ladies from the community will be running a coffee shop with freshly baked cakes, cookies and the all the sweet things we need in our life. There will be live entertainment taking place on the Saturday night including musicians and dancers. So bring the family and friends and enjoy the festivities as your support is vital for this weekend to be successful. All proceeds from this event will go to RFDS to aid in the replacement of ageing aircraft and to update vital medical equipment. If you believe you could provide your help or are interested in setting up a trade site at this event please contact the event organisers. 5. That would be greatly appreciated if you did pass on my details. We are currently looking for spitifre owners to join us in a circumnavigation of Australia in June 2011 as part of the "Wings of Life" charity fundraising efforts.
  6. Hi Mick, My father purchased this Spitifre about a week ago from an English fellow at Gympie. It is a Mk. 26 Supermarine Spitifre 80% replica, with a N/A IZUSU V6. I'm new to this site but I have created an album in "my profile" with pictures of the aircraft. I think this should link you to it. http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/members/douglasfield-albums-spitfire-mk26.html Doug
  7. small world.. Thankyou for the reply. Could you direct me to the most appropriate area to post information on this event.
  8. Hello fellow aviators, My name is Douglas Field and I have been associated with Recreational Aviation Australia for the past 4 years. I currently work as a flight instructor building experience in the industry as I aspire to become an airline pilot. I have joined this community to broaden my associates in the industry and promote a personal project. I am a Griffith Bachelor of Aviation student and part of this degree students are required to conduct a project. For this project I have created a charity called "Wings of Life" which raises funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS). My charity is planning on achieving this through hosting numerous events, predominantly associated with aviation. The inaugural event is a charity fly-in and tradeshow held on the 2nd and 3rd of October, 2010 at a private aerodrome in Kilcoy, Queensland. I am currently looking for sponsors and companies interested in promoting their products through purchasing a trade stall at this event or anyone who is willing to provide a helping hand. This is my first post on this site and I am sure that I will find a more appropriate area to provide more detailed information on this event. Thankyou Douglas Field
