does anyone if i could use any brand of fuel gauge as long as the ohms are the same as the old broken one , my westech died and was a 2c7 which is 240 ohms , so could i use another brand ?????

make an aircraft not to bad make an engine and let pilots do the research and development on them see what happens and fix it as they go sound like a cheap way to make an aircraft my old flying school had one got rid of it sharp, and hated the jab engine

I maintain 2 PPC's one with a Bolly prop(tuff edge) and one with an IVO prop (stainless tape edge).Aerochute Australia has the stainless edge tape and they do a great mail order, next day most of the time.

 

If you've never fitted them before its worth talking to them to do it right the first time.

thanx everyone who commented much help there just had my tested friday all a o k just glasses for reading , have talked to y old instructor about it, he is of the same opinion as most to see a plane head on it very difficult and to keep scanning i do not think it is my eye sight just not seeing them coming at me .

will get back in the air soon and have another bash at it thanx everyone

has anyone out there ever lost there confidence to fly?? i seem to have owing to some things that happened while flying , while doing the right thing i missed seeing two aircraft flying towards me how come ?? , then same thing happened another flight a helicopter left the airfield with all correct departure calls i knew where he was but i could not see him till he shot past me just below me , now this has happened 4 times and has freaked me out as i am a very cautious pilot may be to cautious, has anyone had this happen to them i have about 45 hours solo , and i am on the point of selling my aircraft because of it help !!!!!!!!!

SKYFOX 1 good idea but its to go on a streak shadow , they have two small one either side of the engine if i could get away with an auto one i would thanx for the info though ............

HI there took mine to rad shop quoted $400 burt flood $600 plus out of the states $429 + p &p no where is cheap just a pain when the weather here in s e queensland is perfect dam !

3rd of june and i have no mag !! and i must say for 3 or 4 months befor temora all we get in the mag is temora,temora , temora i would rather articals than pages full of whats going on at temora !!! and how brilliant its going to be most people would ahve made there minds up they are going what ever is there >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> its just my opinion !!

1 amp sounds a bit small actually would think it would be a 2 amp or 3 amp fuse and not normally slow blow. It should be a std fuse. The dc lead from memory has a plastic fuse holder inline check the caps on the end of the wire to make sure they are not corroded or have any vertigrease on them as the radio wants to draw its maximum current at PTT i would think around 1.5 to 2amps then if there is any resistance in the power cable,plug or fuseholder or fuse then you get voltage drop and the radio will detect this and turn offMark

thanx for that mark , i have is it slow blow fuses in the fuse would that be the problem i think if i remember they are 1 amp

i had odd thing happen to me today when i went for a fly i pressed my ptt button and the battery going flat warning light came on, then the radio shut down, the radio is conected to the wiring with the correct adaptor and i t has no battery in the set to go flat ! has anyone come across this before??? could it be the ptt switch faulty ?

i was not making any judgements on people who opt to fly inbeetween showers just that i would not do it my self being a low hours pilot, and the showers could be 2 hours apart i have enough trouble flying in vmc with out having to dodge showers etc ,

just got back from brissie rained all the way down and all the awy back less than 80ks so bad still bucketing down now my creek going balistic seems no break even next week end showers , some people risk a flit around the circuit inbeetween rain showers but not thanks!! was about to do my nav solo at the end of septemeber then the weather broke and have not had a day clear since imagine up north the shadow would be a boat now !!!

i have not get a fly in since the 27/11/10 evry time go to caloundra to get the shadow out down comes the rain , by the time this weather goes i will have to have refresher lessons , but better that than a sunk aircraft !!!!!!

yes this weather is ureal , i have not had a fly for a month , been trying to compleat my solo nav since sept but every saturday has be rat ****, so it looks like it will be wintertime till this lot clears.

airfields are sad and lonley places when the weather is bad not a soul about ........

my poor old streak shadow will be thinking i have left it for another life no wind under wings for ages .............
