Ahk thanks for clearing that up.

Ah OK, that clears things. I must have been confused with GA rules? that you have to be rated on each specific aircraft? Anyway thanks for the replies they helped a lot.

Hi all, Well so far I've done all my training in a Jabiru J160 and achieved my certificate but I'm now looking into possibly getting a type rating for a sports star some time in the future as for me they will be more accessible. I know there is no exact way of answering this but how long does it usually take to get a type rating on a new aircraft? Thanks, Cuan

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and currently a RAA student. I'm 16 and living in Adelaide, South Australia and super passionate flyer. I have just started up my training at Port Pirie Aerodrome in a Jabiru 160. I've clocked up only 1 hour in the J160 but previously 6 hours in a Sports Star at Aldinga Aerodrome, however unfortunately had to stop training at that time due to a lack of funds. However once again I'm back up in the air thanks to a parcially funded Aviation Scholarship for students held in Port Pirie, South Australia every school term for a week. I'm now working my way up to getting my dream which is my RAA licence. Cuan James.
