You want everything. Next you'll be expecting openness and transparency.Im happy they were provided, Im less satisfied with the answers themselves.RegardsAndy

Well at least a written copy of the questions on notice and the answers were finally provided. You should be at least a little bit happy with that Andy.

You've just lost two marks from the interview panel if you're after an ops position but thanks for not cheating.I've resisted the temptation. So I continue to have no idea! Chicago? It's in America, right? -
On the subject of the staff selection process, I'd like to ask everyone the following question and you're not allowed to Google it.
"When was the Chicago Convention held and what does it mean to you?"
(Hint - it has something to do with flying).

I suggested obtaining external assistance when the first audit problem occured twelve months ago but the majority felt it wasn't required. I wonder what made the majority think it was required now? As far as the CEO is concerned I think he's on the full time payroll until the end of the Christmas shut down period. Not sure what will happen if they don't stop for the break.Well said.Yes, it could simply be that. But are we so financially constrained that we, (the R.A.Aus) haven't got the sense to address the issue of audits comprehensively? In other words, why weren't more people engaged to bring a system, and positive result in place? It's my understanding that we're now employing "temps". (consultants) to do the tech job. I'm assuming it's a plural figure here, as our "guy" couldn't do it on his own. Or is it that the consultants are just better at the job and therefore commanding a higher bottom line?Do we still have a C.E.O. ?

Christmas Wish List
The Junior Members were "mistakenly" grounded on the final working day before Christmas last year, so how can that be bettered this time around, hmmm....
(A parent of one of my students called it the "Ebenezer Scrooge Manuoevre")

Got the numbers up to overturn the confidentially rubbish that unfortunately reappeared but towards the end it was hard to do anything worthwhile when the vote seemed to be regularly 7-3 and you're one of the three. Once Don left it was harder and that's why I withdrew my "tendered" resignation in May.

Hi All,
As an ex-board member, the question that screams through my mind is why do so many members that I talk to have absolutely no idea of what is going on at the moment. It would be so damned easy to send a bulk email to each member outlining the problems and giving them a heads up that, "hey maybe this year you won't being going for your usual flight after Christmas lunch or whatever it is you do". I used to send the SQ members the odd email advising them of things like the AGM at Heck Field etc, it ain't that hard. By the way, if anyone's looking for a proxy form please email me at
P.S. Yes, as you can tell from my email address I was one of those accursed CFI board members
Cheers

Lets say hypothetically to make it simple, no club aircraft and no hangarage available. Private hire available through the FTF.A hard question... I guess it depends on what the Club was offering... -
If you were required to pay local club fees prior to commencing flight training at what level would you choose not to learn or decide to travel an hour by car to learn elsewhere?
-
Sorry it has taken a while to reply but work has been insane. No economic downturn in the GC RAA flight training market but I'm hoping that the rain forecasted for this summer will kick in and let me get some home renos done. Painting the house sky blue at the moment while the sun is out and I'm not IFR on the verandah like a few days ago.Good Day NS, how have you been mate. Getting much flying in with Students?PS- What I mean Nick is that as you know living here, the economy is very slow ATM on the Gold Coast.I hope its not effecting your flying school too much.Nick

It'd be nice to think that living close to a distribution centre works but it could be that the staff are reading it before it gets to you. Have you thought about checking the seal? At least it doesn't get delivered by mule train like at Springbrook. We get three copies and they rarely arrive on the same day (all the same surname).Hmmm, its funny how you always get your mag mate, a day before I do. We live less than 10 kays apart from each other. I wonder if it comes through the Robina Aus post distribution centre or Bundall. Robina depo is 1 km from my joint.Good news though i will have probably have it on monday. Its hard to read some of the threads here disscussing items the magazine,Since we have not read the articles ourselves. Not too worry.Nick

I can't think of any others.

Only your spot left Carol, its not going to be the same without you:crying:.
As Don is also running in the bielection, if he wins that as well does that mean he gets two votes? Where's a constitutional expert when you need one.
As Ian has mentioned congrats to those that were sucessful:welcome: and thanks to those that put up their hands and didn't make it this time. Hopefully the age of uncontested positions is behind us.

Hi All,
Great news and congrats to the winners.

Congratulations Don and also to you Ed. Great news.

I made a verbose explanation of my thoughts on the matter on another thread but unfortunately I can't find it now. Anyway give it a try for a while and see how it goes.

His position like mine and half the board's is not up for election until next year.
-
Leave it as is, let the editor up the amount of articles and the number of pages, thereby increasing the advertising revenue and we all get a better magazine at no extra cost (and cheaper than through the previous publisher).

Might see if the editor can put in a fashion column to broaden the appeal ...what are the best dressed aviators wearing this season?I agree with Tomo. My wife is reading it now! Never happened before so they must be getting something right.I do like the look of this edition - congrats to the Editor and staff. -
No position uncontested across the entire country, what a great event.Pud.Gavin T could have waved his hat at you during the Bindoon CASA presentation but considering there were over a hundred attendees, perhaps it's not strange that you missed him. Anyway, come back up any time as it would be a rare weekend that he isn't 'in harness' at Bindoon. I share your thoughts regarding the novelty of actually getting to cast a vote for choice of Board representation in WA. Second time in ten years if I remember correctly. How to handle this pressure??? Cheers- 1

Hi Carol. I think "herding cats" is the phrase you are looking for.

Well if it is true (I can't comment as I don't follow that site) then exercise your rights and vote to make sure it doesn't happen.Got my copy of the magazine today and had a quick browse through it and got to the board election nominees and statements. Well bugger me if there isn't probably the nastiest two faced bit of gear that I've ever had the displeasure to meet espousing his virtues to be elected as an RAA board member for Victoria. After following his anti RAA antics in his VH-XXX 'nym (among others) on the wrinkled plum for the last couple of years, does he really think that it wouldn't come back to bite him on the bum?I suppose if there's a position for director of rumour mongering and snide gossip he'll be a perfect fit....

Not bad boys, but when was it held and what wines were served at the dinner on the first night?
