  1. Paul, It all depends on what you want to get out of flying, do you want to get from A to B, fly around your local area, or just get your feet off the ground for the lowest cost. Dont forget powered parachutes and gyros, have a TIF in them all to get a good idea of whats out there ( dont rely on others to tell you ). This is my opinion only but I have a number of hrs in GA, 3 axis, and powered parachutes. I have also had TIFs in gyros and trikes and I love them all but I cant afford them all. for me the cheapest form of flying is powered parachutes, and there great fun but they do have draw backs. but its cheap and I can keep it at home and take it where ever I want on the trailer ( you can also do this with trikes and gyros ) When I want to get some time in 3 axis I go out and hire a plane for an hour or so, that way I have the best of a least two forms of flying. Good luck.
  2. I saw an x-air have an engine failure on take off a couple of years back, in nil wind and at about 200ft the pilot was able to do a full 360 deg turn and land back on the runway in the direction he started in with height to spare.
  3. aerochute Its still an aircraft even if it flies at 35 knts.
  4. Hi, thanks for the reply. In answer to your question, Yes I am looking for something small simple and cheap, as I already have a powered parachute and this is what I do all my flying with but I would like to keep up my skills in fixed wing as well, a rebuild or restoration would be great. nashy.
  5. Hi all, I am new to this forum and I am trying to find out if there is anyone out there that knows any thing about the affordaplane. its an American design with there own web site and what seems like a popular following over there. I have been flying for a few years now, GA,u/lights and powered parachutes but I would like to get back into a small simple single seat u/light.
