  1. Congratulations to Martin, Ken and Noel.. with their decision to grow the Tanarg BioniX 13 family in Australia. Two new aircraft are scheduled for arrival in late August at YFT and Noel has purchase my 2007 Tanarg iXess machine. Martin's machine is the latest demo trike, fitted with the Rotax 912es (100hp) version and has all the options including BMW -Gunmetal colour and the Extra Silent exhaust system. The wing, a BioniX 13 is a unique colour design... identical to the Pitch Test version (see image) which Air Creation achieved compliance to the tough German DULV Stability Compliance procedures in 2012. Ken's ... Tanarg 912s (100hp) will be striking Tornado Red and the BioniX 13 has a custom colour concept that will definitely be impressive and personal by design. This aircraft will have the training controls for flight instruction, including dual steer and foot throttle for the instructor in the rear seat, providing maximum safety for both student and instructor. [floatl][/floatl] Our third new member to the Tanarg family is Noel.. and has commenced training with Peter at YFT in my much loved Tanarg iXess 15. By all reports, Noel is having a great time cruising the skies of Yarrawonga with Peter and learning to fly with good progress to solo soon. More news to come with the factory in full swing.. with 26 aircraft in production for delivery across the world. Stay tuned for more soon..
  2. Hi Ian.. big changes to your website..! May take me a while to navigate, but the concept I like.. good luck. Thankyou for keeping the dream alive.
  3. Air Creation submitted a new aircraft showcase item: Air Creation - a.r.v. Tanarg 912s Read more about this aircraft showcase item...

  5. Thanks Dazza.. yes, my older boys are definittly,,, 'Y'.. generation....! Some 100 hrs editing & creating REALLY confirmed how LUCKY we kids we were to have parents that contributed to our careers in flying! Got a bit more on the late 70's hang gliding soon..
  6. Learning to FLY... 1970.! True Aussie spirit.. the evolution of trikes in Australia, began here.!

  8. The Airborne Edge 582 was an awesome machine in its day.... so much fun and tough! Lets get trike comps happening again... there must be pilots wanting to test their flying skills and machines.!
  9. The first Aussie trike competition held in 1992 at Smithy's Airfield, Hexham near Newcastle. The competition involved spot landing, engine off and touch & go tasks with a great bunch of local trike pilots. Several other successful trike competitions including the Flyright Challenge and the NSW Trike Titles were held but sadly trike comps never really eventuated after the late 90's.

  11. Fly with passion 1990 - No Rules.. No Regulations.. just a bunch of trike pilots doing their stuff in the Hunter Valley on an awesome property - Thornthwaite near Scone in the Hunter Valley - Australia.
  12. Laurie.. it was a pleasure, and there is lots of water under the bridge as 'they say.. flying trikes today, is all because we share a passion.!
  13. Yikes..Kites & Trikes is an original compilation of very early video archive material created to reflect my kite flying days in 1972, still at school and just 12 years old, then almost suddenly, my flying evolved to triking in 1989... where did those years go..??? The imagery is not perfect although you will get the feeling...the trike speed is original, the low flying is extreme (do not attempt this style of flying without respect of the hidden dangers - powerlines, engine outs, trees or serious injury may occur) and the location holds great memories of triking before the sport was legal, at Scone in the Hunter Valley. The Airborne Edge 582 aircraft of the time performed extremely good, fitted with a Rotax 582 (2 stroke) engine & 2 blade wooden prop, the Edge could fly at about 55 knots... I really loved these trikes - awesome machines with a minimum of cockpit comforts - real flying, real fun.. real X-citment..Enjoy! Music - Not sure, but it is perfect-acknowledgement to the creators.
  14. If my memory serves me correctly... Back Row - R/L Chris Brandon, Steve Ruffells (RIP), Aden Wicks, Robert Hibberd, Anthony Gerrard, Richard Sneddon, Lee Scott, Mike Coburn, Joe Scott (RIP) & Shane Moore. Front Row - R/L Ian Robertson, John Goodrich, John Amor, Larry Jones & Kevin Magennis Apology if mis-spelling of names has occurred, 23 years now since this day of recognition.
  15. Not sure where you got that info, Mike Coburn attended the inaugural HGFA Coures and one of the fifteen first trike CFI's to be approved by CAA. I can assure you there were few helpers in the day to get it all legal..! The only reflection of support is really with Ian Jarman, Robert Loreton, Johanne Parnisky and Steve Hocking. I did stay with Mike several times in the early days and we did share a good frienship. As we learn - there are followers and leaders in the world to keep the balance. Its all good... this is the crew - Mike is 3rd from right back row... stay tuned.
  16. Thanks for the appreciation of our unique moments in making aviation history. Found another oldy in my video archives.. 1990 HGFA Instructor Course and CAA approval - Mike Cleaver was very supportive in getting trikes recognised in the early years, as was Trevor Burns CAA.
  17. Trikes Australia 1984 - the original 8mm footage of trikes at Salt Ash with the Duncan Brothers and Chris Brandon of Airborne Windsports. See four first solo flights in one day in these primitive trikes - Kenichi Tanaka, Kevin Duncan, Steve Moyes and Eric Brandon show their true worth. A snippet of history... there will be more video history further in this post. Enjoy.
