What - no top gun music...I don't know if anyone noticed but the Greeks have taken the whole budget problem to heart.Instead of the F35 and such they have developed their own and saved billions. As a Nato member this design makes a lot of sense. Running costs are o.1% per hour of other designs and is perfect for low level attack missions dropping olives
Welcome the Archon SF1
Awesome little plane..
Should have left his motorbike helmet on and slapped hands with his mate goose as he got out...
Nice

I might be interested too. Add to trike

happy to report the ferrite clamps did the job beautifully - absolutely no more hashIf the ferrite clamp doesn't fix the interferance when you put it on the charger cable, try it on the battery side. That is, behind the panel socket. Sometimes the noise is being radiated from the battery feed wiring. -
Gps works perfect in car and with batteriesWhen you say it generates a lot of static how do you know? Can you hear it on a radio? Try the GPS and power supply in a car. Does the GPS work ok in the car, if so there's no problem with the GPS or power unit. If your trike is generating that much electrical noise I'm surprised you can get any radio reception. I'd be looking at the actual socket on your aircraft. I wonder, as someone suggested, if you do in fact have a bad connection to the positive centre pin and it is arcing, which would account for the 'static' noise. If you find the cause make sure you post it so everyone can say ' I knew that's what it would be......'PaulI'll check centre pin
Yes, ill post once I solve this

It is more like hash than staticI would assume if there was a dicky connection to the power supply connector, the whole radio would be on and off rather than just experiencing 'static'. As mentioned previously, switch-mode power supplies can generate a lot of 'hash' (not static, there's a difference). Connect it all up then wrap the GPS and leads in aluminium foil, being careful not to burn the block down. Just another idea that may help...I'll try it

Couldn't see a linkTry these off ebay : -
Not sure I fully get what your saying - but I'll get another one and swap it to see what happensThe charger is a switch mode power supply, there are good ones and their are bad ones, guess which one you have? -
Seems very tight - unlikelyPoor contacts in the socket plug arrangement and/or the plug is vibrating in the socket? -
Thanks all
I'll try these ideas and let you know how I go,.,
Will be after the Easter break though ...

Airborne Edge X Trike 582
I changed the small plug socket to a normal car sized one that fits the Garmin 196 GPS charger.
Problem is - causes a lot of static - unusable
Works fine with batteries in GPS
Any ideas?

I also really enjoy your excellent production.
I follow every link you provide and really enjoy the adventure travels of other trike flyers.
I bought Olivier Aubert and Mike Blyth videos South to South, Coast to Coast & monkeys in the sky after following your link.
Love these videos - watched them three times each...

With all the navigation programmes / restricted / military active status should be shown automatically - no need to go to naips and type in each restricted code...

Another great big plane to hangar!!
What a big ongoing cost !!
How exciting is a 747 anyway?
I wouldn't pay to go see it

Thanks HITC for taking the time to provide your very informative reply.
I love flying trikes and I'll keep mine as long as I live...
But Ive got a burning ambition to get a Seamax, Searey, Superpetrel or if they ever actually deliver one, an Icon A5...
I'm going to have to go second hand as I'm not going to have $160k to spend on one...
Not having been in any of them- I have no idea of what might be the right one for me...
Saw the ad for the Osprey and was keen to get some feedback - and great feedback indeed!
Much appreciated
