NO states have banned flying, they can't, state Govt don't have the power, besides the hysteria is doing a good job of creating confusing all over!
Exactly. I and others want this to be clear, we believe we can fly with social distancing rules but want to monitor the legality.
It is exercise physically and for the mind after all.

The Chief Health Officers of the States and Territories and the Premiers and Chief Ministers have listed allowable activities. i.e. have listed the things you can do. Listing the things you cannot do would have run into the tens of thousands, but some qualifying information has been released by Premiers/First Ministers (and not by ABC reporters).
It's clear that some people still don't realise the gravity of the situation and how easy it is to transmit or receive the virus.
This Ad from Israel makes it very clear.
Where can we find this information?

Where and what states recreational pilots can't fly? How do we get that up to date reliable accurate information please?

Hi Scott,Another take (possible conspiracy theory) about airport fees. When a council implements airport fees, the original, and stated, intent is to cover the operating and maintenance costs of the airfield. However, a subplot could be to drive traffic away, thereby justifying the sale of the airport to developers. Everyone knows that airports draw developers like sugar draws ants. All that flat cleared land is cheap to build houses on and developers can make a motza out of an ex airport. Then the council gets rates from all those houses/units and no longer has to pay to maintain the airport. For the council and the developers, what's not to like. For the couple hundred pilots who can no longer land or house their planes there ... Too bad! This is the world we live in now. Where the $ rules and business is a sacred (cash) cow.
I heard before Christmas something very interesting.... But time will tell.
1. First though - you are right. Less flying seems to be the council agenda - wouldn't want to promote possible business and tourism opportunity around here.
2. The new fuel bowser was out of action but 'should' be working again now - AvGas.
3. The Maryborough airport is a historical WW2 training site - it can not or will not (or will it?) be removed or developed.
Now the big one...
4. Blocks were being sold as an airpark on the opposite side of the runway from the hangers - but this is now not the case. Allegedly, the reason being that the Federal Government stepped in and told the local council they cannot sell or use this land this way as it was not 'theirs' to sell/use - it is Federal, and it will stay as it is! What a joke and waste of tax payers money - again.

After chasing down some information, it turns out the camping area is no longer free, you must be fully self sufficient (toilet shower water supply etc), and therefore camping in tents is prohibited. There goes the idea of a fly-in weekend, but I will keep looking at options.
I fly a trike in and out of Maryborough - no sign of a Landing fee as yet.

"MARYBOROUGH WILL BE BACK ON THE MAP."Thanks for the invite - Gympie and Monduran are on my to-do list.Hi Ironpot. My trike lives at YMYB, and I try to fly weekly. The fuel was very recently recommissioned and is yet to be discovered by many pilots. (Only Avgas unfortunately). Facilities also include free camping area at the airport, toilets next to the exit entry gate, a takeaway shop across the road, and a short walk to town. Mogas is just up the road at BP. Taxis are available too of course.
I have recently became our Aeroclub Club Captain, and am in charge of advising members of fly-ins and activities to entertain our aviating passions. An idea I am currently hatching is an annual long weekend (Labour weekend?) camping fly-in to YMYB, where you can camp 1 or 2 days, fly the area around Fraser etc, and enjoy others company. The aero club may even be keen to cater a dinner evening and cooked breakfast. Thoughts and comments anyone?
As a recreational pilot, I have not yet received a landing fee, but GA may be different.
See map attached for more info.

Shouldn't that read - the less viscous the easier it flows.I have not seen a engine that gives higher oil pressure when it get hotter.... it always goes down. It makes sense as the oil gets thinner it flows better and not as dense as the pump is still spinning at the same engine rpm regardless of the oil temp. The more viscious it is the easier it will flow. I can understand fluctuations being there if you have lots of bends etc in the oil system due to the added restriction but mine doesnt at all. They are as short as possible and no joiners or extra bends -
If and when the oil cooler is installed with inlet/outlet down opposing the Rotax recommendation, how would you get rid of an air-lock in the cooler, and prevent gases building up in the top of it?To my knowledge, the oil is not affected in this application. The life of the oil is too short, 50-100h max compared to a hydraulic system (several thousands of hours). The most likely component(s) to cause cavitation (vapour) are also not oil components but fuel! When my oil temps wouldn't come up to 80-90deg C, I had over 2% of fuel dilution in the oil (most of the time it is under 1%).Cavitation is caused by a small part of the fluid experiencing a local pressure that is below the vapour point eg forming a tiny vapour bubble. Speeding up a pump that already struggles to get enough fluid supplied is not the fix. The usual remedy is the reduce the suction loss (reduce pipe length, increase dia and replace/remove fittings with low-loss versions). If that is not possible, increase the source pressure (elevated reservoir or pressurising it).I have a Tecnam P92 and Tecnam, in their wisdom, is installing the oil cooler with the inlet/outlet fittings down (contrary to Rotax installation requirement). After every oil change, I'm cranking the engine with spark plugs removed until I have steady oil pressure. When cleaning out the tank, I also drain the lines and then use a vacuum pump (oil sample pump) to bleed the suction lines and oil cooler at the oil pump inlet.

Ring Terry and Jo at Narromine Tourist Park at the airport. They might be able to help. All the best.

You should see/count how many of the new (approved) airpark lots have been sold in Maryborough over the last few years.........'0'. Maybe that was how Council 'was' hoping to get some coin but isn't. And hanger lot leasing and associated costs are quite prohibitive too - the thing is the airport including Hervey Bay are both very short on hangerage! As a result there is no enthusiasm or incentive to build any with earnings potential. Still waiting for the so called approved fuel installation too which is happening by the end of this month??
We all know only 2 things are certain in life- death and taxes - not necessarily in that order.
The future is always uncertain, makes it hard to plan ahead doesn't it ....Rant off......

Hi Admin,Why not just add the videos in the media gallery here so users don't have to leave the site and go to facebook to view them, much better and easier for Recreational Flying usersI am letting members know that I am running a channel on Youtube and giving a complimentary notification here that these videos are online. If I was to post my links on every website around the world i wouldn't get too far hey. It's not just for the 'Recreational Flying' community members.
thanks.

Hi Alan,Good to see you posting here again mate. Looks like you've been busy really enjoying your freedom in the air with all those videos. Some great footage there.Kind RegardsAlan
Yes been busy - not so much freedom though. Not much flying last year due to wok or weather conflicts. This year most of my posts will be Facebook and Youtube video production from the trike. (something new on the horizon too!). More great footage to come. Love it if more like-minded people could subscribe and follow me along on youtube.
